For an overview of the extensive functionality of BESA, it is best to take a look at our tutorials.
We recommend tutorials 1, 3, 6, 7 and 8 for a comprehensive overview. The new distributed 3D imaging techniques of BESA 5.2 are introduced in Tutorial 10.
The following tutorials can be downloaded:
- Tutorial 1: Getting started with EEG simulations (25 Feb 2004). Introduction to the basics of source analysis and the BESA user interface using simulated EEG data.
- Tutorial 2: Getting started with MEG simulations (23 Aug 2002). Introduction to the basics of source analysis with focus on the concept of regional sources using simulated MEG data.
- Tutorial 3: Tutorial on a reaction-time EEG experiment (25 May 2008). All steps of data analysis from preprocessing to artifact rejection, averaging, source analysis and integration of fMRI.

- Tutorial 8: Tutorial on artifact correction (25 May 2008). Artifact correction in continuous and averaged data. Demonstration of source analysis in the presence of artifacts.
- Tutorial 9: Tutorial on multiple source beamformer (25 May 2008). Demonstration of the BESA Multiple Source Beamformer to image oscillatory activity. Hands on simulated and real data.
- Tutorial 10: Tutorial on distributed source imaging (25 May 2008). Introduction the new 3D volume imaging techniques in BESA 5.2 including a discussion of the effects of regularization.
